About this speaker and audio
The Sonos Roam 2 is a compact portable speaker that works over WiFi at home and switches to Bluetooth when you head out, so the same speaker suits the kitchen worktop, the garden and a weekend away. It's rated IP67 for dust and water resistance, so rain, a splash by the pool or a sandy beach shouldn't worry it, and it's built to cope with the knocks of everyday carrying. Battery life is up to 10 hours, enough for a long afternoon outdoors.
On your home network it joins other Sonos speakers for whole-home listening, and Apple users can stream directly with AirPlay 2. Trueplay tuning adjusts the sound to suit where you've placed it, helping it sound full whether it's standing up or lying flat. Compared with the original Roam, this model adds a dedicated Bluetooth button, making it simpler to pair a phone on the go.
Built-in microphones let you use voice control to play music, change the volume or skip tracks hands-free, and the microphones can be switched off whenever you prefer. It charges by USB-C and is finished here in black.
