BRAVIA 8 XR80U 55" 4K OLED Smart TV - K55XR80PU

About this TV

Sony's BRAVIA 8 brings a 55-inch 4K OLED panel to the living room, where every pixel lights itself. That means true blacks, rich contrast and no grey glow around bright objects in a dark scene, which makes it especially rewarding for evening film nights. HDR support includes Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG, so streamed shows and 4K Blu-rays keep their bright highlights and shadow detail.

Sony's Cognitive Processor XR handles the picture, upscaling standard HD channels and older content towards 4K while keeping colours natural and motion smooth. The native 120Hz panel helps fast sport and action scenes look crisp. Gamers get HDMI 2.1 with 4K at 120Hz, variable refresh rate and auto low latency mode, plus features designed to pair neatly with a PlayStation 5.

Google TV puts apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and BBC iPlayer in one place, with personalised recommendations and Google Assistant voice control. For sound, Acoustic Surface Audio+ uses the screen itself to project audio, so dialogue seems to come from the people speaking, and Dolby Atmos adds a sense of height and space without extra speakers.
