Xbox Series S Console

About this games console and controller

The Xbox Series S is Microsoft's compact, all-digital current-generation console, built around a 512GB custom SSD. Because it has no disc drive, games are downloaded from the Xbox Store or played through Xbox Game Pass, so there are no discs to swap or lose. The fast solid-state storage keeps loading screens short, and Quick Resume lets you jump between several suspended games almost instantly, picking up exactly where you left off.

It targets 1440p resolution at up to 120 frames per second. On a compatible screen, that means smooth, responsive action in fast shooters and racing games. It also supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing for more realistic lighting and reflections, and it upscales games to suit 4K televisions. Streaming apps can also play on a 4K TV.

The slim, quiet design fits easily on a shelf or beside a TV, and it can stand upright or lie flat. It plays thousands of titles from earlier Xbox generations through backward compatibility, so an existing digital library carries over. The 512GB of storage suits a handful of big games at once, which makes it a great fit for Game Pass subscribers and families wanting next-generation gaming in a small package.
